Clean Community Award

ECC has been recognized as an Indiana Clean Community by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. The state recognizes the city for being proactive to become a cleaner, greener, more sustainable city. We have a long way to go, but it is nice to be recognized for the efforts so far. Evansville is a Bronze level Clean Community, and ECC will continue to strive for advanced achievements in the program.

2025 Climate Action Plan

The first ever Evansville Climate Action Plan (CAP) was published in 2020. In partnership with Keramida Consulting, we are updating the CAP to serve as a 5- year strategic plan to guide agency priorities that will have long term impact. Our goal is to reduce energy use and air emissions, while improving sustainability and resiliency. The plan will help us do our part to reduce further climate changes, and prepare Evansville to be more resilient for the impacts ahead.

We are partnering with ClimateNav to conduct a new GHG Inventory that will include the community at-large and more recent 2023 emissions. This study will establish a transparent, data-driven process to develop and prioritize actions for the Climate Action Plan.
